Membership

New members are always welcome, just come along to one of our monthly meetings at the RAFA club. You can even 'try us out' for a few months before you decide on joining as an official member. The meetings are informal (there's a bar!) and the club members are (mostly) friendly, approachable and happy to pass on guidance and information to anybody interested in bonsai- whatever your level of experience.

Pre BSA Show

As many will know (because your going) this weekend sees the BSA show at Willowbog.
(NB.It was at last years show; on a table, in the canteen that this very blog was 'conceived'!!!! -so be careful and carry protection!)
-
I believe there will be a strong gathering of the Wirral clan -some showing, some visiting.
(I can't make it due to the anticipation of loosing the part of my anatomy that helped produce my latest creation,.. if I went!!)
I hope you all have a good (& successful?) time and somebody (Les?) takes some pics. for posterity.

See you on the flip side.

Blog update

I have added some new items on my blog (under members sites) if anybodies interested!!

New message board

Decided to try out a new message board, one that is a little more immediate and the comments visible on the blog.

Lets see if it works and that you lot are interested in using it! If not we can keep the old one as I've just 'parked' it lower down the blog for now.

February ToTM

This months Tree of the Month belongs to Jim and is a lonicera pileata.
A lovely combination of tree, pot and antique stand.
Well done Jim.

February meeting -Repotting Workshop....

......come talking shop!!

This months meeting was interesting -if a little light on trees being worked on-( I hold my hands up ....I didn't bring a tree either!)
One highlight was the critique (a polite word for it) of Les's new display stand and the trees it should house-(Doug-nice work BTW.)Not sure of the final decision on the layout but I am sure we will see the excellent result at Willowbog at the BSA show come the 1st of March.
NB. A trip of note in the near future will be Lee's visit to Steve Tolley's -to pick up (????) his new acquisition (come small forest!) As discussed if anybody is interested in going down at the same time (under your own steam) please liaise with Lee on the likely date.

Now ....Let's remember to all bring a tree next month -we don't want to dissapoint Ian now,... do we....?

Tony asleep or deep in thought.....You choose?

Druid tree horoscope

(This is a real tree!!!)

Below are a couple of links to some might say 'off the wall' (unless your into this sort of thing) sites that help you discover 'the tree within you'!! (Or is it you within the tree??)

http://www.thebookofshadows.net/druidhoroscope.html
http://www.astrohoroscopes.com/fun/whattree.html#weeping
-

This is me apparently -I don't recognise myself from the description (apart from 'attractive' -obviously!) so a big pinch of salt is obviously required!!
WEEPING WILLOW(the Melancholy) - beautiful but full of melancholy, attractive, very empathetic, loves anything beautiful and tasteful, loves to travel, dreamer, restless, capricious, honest, can be influenced but is not easy to live with, demanding, good intuition, suffers in love but finds sometimes an anchoring partner.

putting all of yourself into a tree......
