January meeting -AGM
This months meeting saw the 'changing of the guard'.
Ian our long standing Chairman finally got his way when he finally felt it was possible to stand down.
Taking his place, after a vote by members is...... Les -who took over the role only on the understanding that Ian would replace Tony, who stood down as vice chairman.
As discussed by the outgoing chairman, this change enables Ian to remain the very able 'voice' of the club while lessening the pressure of having to organise the clubs ongoing activities.
Im sure everybody joins in with Tony's thanks for all the work Ian has put in over the years- helping to put the club where it is today.

Temporary IBC site
Below is an email I received today-
I've recently set up a temporary replacement for the Internet Bonsai Club, which you may be aware was taken down some months ago by a hacker attack. This also lost all of Terry Robbins' commercial sites on his server. Since then he has been seriously ill in hospital. I am happy to report that he is now recovering and commencing work on a possible completely rebuilt IBC. If you'd like to take a look at the new forum or sign up please click below to register click the button left of Log In. You'l have to await a confirmation email and click the link in that, to activate your membership. Hope to see you online, if not in person, soon.
Best regards for 2009

Membership
New members are always welcome, just come along to one of our monthly meetings at the RAFA club. You can even 'try us out' for a few months before you decide on joining as an official member. The meetings are informal (there's a bar!) and the club members are (mostly) friendly, approachable and happy to pass on guidance and information to anybody interested in bonsai- whatever your level of experience.
