Splitting the branch &......

another new technique being demonstrated by Lee ....collecting yamadori cerumen (ear wax to you and me!!)
Your guess is as good as mine as to what is actually going on here!!

November Meeting- Ian Warhurst

This months meeting will unfortunately not feature Terry Foster as previously detailed -due to his educational commitments (fancy taking exams at his time in life!!!)
Stepping into the breach is Ian who, I believe will be talking about the removal of straight trunks or branches by 'splitting & bending'.
-

Bonsai Site of the Month- November

This months site is an interesting blog created by a Slovakian exponent of the art- Erik Krizovensky. Short but sweet (the site.... not Erik)

New official photographer

As announced at this months meeting Brian has resigned as Wirral bonsai's official photographer, due to outside pressures and 'a wish to spend more time with his family'. (or was it due to his rejected expense claims for the duck pond ornaments & the maid 'services' for his Swiss chalet?)

I would like to thank Brain for his unstinting work & input during his tenure.

Taking his place is Jim 'the Lad' and I look forward to working with him on demonstrating to the world what our club gets up to (not to mention the depths of our depravity!!)

My Fuchsia (I used to think it was a bigun, till I saw Les's!!!!.......steady... don't be making up your own jokes!!!!) plus my 'healthy' Yew..... that's in need of a new pot.

Tree of the Month- October

This months ToTM was chosen as being this Cotoneaster, owned by Dena.
The comment made at selection was it shows great promise, despite needing some work.

Site of interest-Olivier Barreau

As I'm away in France, I thought a link to something regional might be of interest-that of Olivier Barreau.
I hope to get the opportunity to meet this talented young man in the near future!

-
He is defiantly skilled in the training of Buxus- a species I'm now coming to appreciate.

New members are always welcome, just come along to one of our monthly meetings at the RAFA club. You can even 'try us out' for a few months before you decide on joining as an official member. The meetings are informal (there's a bar!) and the club members are (mostly) friendly, approachable and happy to pass on guidance and information to anybody interested in bonsai- whatever your level of experience.
