-'Peter Warrens workshop on repotting, showed us how to disentangle the roots by using a chopstick and a gentle touch, (better still, he tells us, is by using a jet of water ) and trimming them back to a reasonable length, ensuring the centre of the pad is clear of roots.
Potting up with the correct mix of soil, whatever is suited to the tree you are potting, and careful pruning of the branches.
A most interesting demonstration on one of Les's maples. '

Membership
New members are always welcome, just come along to one of our monthly meetings at the RAFA club. You can even 'try us out' for a few months before you decide on joining as an official member. The meetings are informal (there's a bar!) and the club members are (mostly) friendly, approachable and happy to pass on guidance and information to anybody interested in bonsai- whatever your level of experience.
