August meeting Show Tree selection

Hi Everyone This is the time of year that we have a few nervous Members among our Society, for at our meeting on the 8th August it was a Club Show Tree Selection for our Members Annual Bonsai and Accent Plants Show which is held at The Award Winning Gordales Garden Center here in the Wirral

Ian W.our man in the Hot seat as chairman he opened the meeting and was more than pleased with the efforts of the Members that had made, as they stood up to the plate and brought in over 30 Bonsai Trees and Accent Plants

There was a Great attendance with 28 members and a few visitors which is always delightful to see, plus to have a Distinguished Bonsai Artist Simon Temblett and a few Enthusiastic Bonsai Members Mr Chris Ryding  Show Manager and Member of the National Bonsai Society also Mr Dave Y from Vale of Clwyd Bonsai Society

As the evening went on Ian W. along with Andy H and Tony F had the difficult task of selecting the Bonsai Trees Required for our Members Annual Bonsai and Accent Plants Show held on the 1st/2nd September at the GGC

The selection process was difficult and Ian W. Expressed the thoughts of the Selection Panel on how difficult it was and even although a Members Tree was not selected this time with a little more work on some cases there is no reason why these Trees will Not be selected in the future so encouraged everyone to keep doing thier best to produce more outstanding Bonsai Trees for Annual Shows for W-B-S

Some 20 Bonsai Trees such as a Juniper Cascade,White Pine,2x Hawthorns,Olive,Pine,Deshojo,Larch,Privet,Yew,Escalllonia,

Honki Raft,3x Chinese Elms,Juniper Group,Azalea,Juniper Small Deshojo and a Hornbeam plus many Shohin Trees

So now its up to Members whose tree or trees were chosen to do the finishing touches in time for the show

W-B-S would be extremely grateful to have your presence at this event and as an Added Bonus there is the Northwest Heat for the 2013 EUROPEAN BONSAI ASSOCIATION NEW TALENT COMPETION

So this is a must for everyone to see some Fabulous Bonsai Trees and Accent Plants from Local Talented Members of Wirral Bonsai Society

Many thanks for browsing our Blog and feel free to leave any comments and we all hope you enjoy what we are ALL doing to promote the Art and Skill Of Bonsai Craft here in the the Wirral and Northwest

Take care and look after all your Bonsai Trees

Membership

New members are always welcome, just come along to one of our monthly meetings at the RAFA club. You can even 'try us out' for a few months before you decide on joining as an official member. The meetings are informal (there's a bar!) and the club members are (mostly) friendly, approachable and happy to pass on guidance and information to anybody interested in bonsai- whatever your level of experience.
