Funday At Gordales 7th and 8th July 2012 #1

Hi Everyone

Welcome to our Blog and it's great to be back,so here hoping you All enjoy reading and looking at what some members of W-B-S members have been up in the past week-end

We had an invitation to participate at Gordales Magnificent 2 Day Fun-day Event held at our second home so to speak for working and promoting the Art, Skill and Enjoyment of the World Of Bonsai with lots of Scouse Humour thrown in not to mention the Goats

It was a nice warm sunny day on both days and many many activities going on and we seemed to have a Full House with lots and lots of Smiling faces,Adults, children enjoying themselves.and the variety of attractions were in abundance and we were more that happy to see that many of those who attended stopped at our workshop tables.

On call were Tom,Steve, Doug, Ian,Sean,Andy and Mike who paid us a flying visit. Sadly due to work and holiday commitments many could not make it  Member numbers may have been small but the wealth of Bonsai knowledge that was passed on to the public was incredible with Everyone being involved and kept busy with Andy re-styling a Chinese Elm for a young extremely happy couple

Bonsai Trees, had 4 x Junipers, Scots Pine Selkova, Chinese Elms, Acres, Larches, Large Beech,Privet,Yew, Larch Slate Forest, Black Pine,Cotoneaster, POTENTILLA Also on display we had a fantastic presentation from Andy with his excellent array of Accents Plants many of which were involved in the recent Magical World of Accent plants 2012 where Andy received glowing  praise for his Display

During the 2 days it was great to see so many children taking an interest in what was going on and a few were fascinated in Sean' Slate Forest with a young Boy making suggestions to Sean as to what could be done with the forest

All in all it was a wonderful 2 days and we all would like to thank our host Gordales Garden Center for allowing W- B-S to participate in the Fun-day Week-end and a Large Thank-you to Karen who looked after us all and once again and we all look forward to being back the GGC on the Last Sunday Of the Month in July

Membership

New members are always welcome, just come along to one of our monthly meetings at the RAFA club. You can even 'try us out' for a few months before you decide on joining as an official member. The meetings are informal (there's a bar!) and the club members are (mostly) friendly, approachable and happy to pass on guidance and information to anybody interested in bonsai- whatever your level of experience.
